Psychotherapy For Bipolar Disorder
Navigate Bipolar Disorder with a Therapist Who Truly Understands
Introduction
Living with bipolar disorder often feels like you’re not in control. Episodes threaten to make you lose everything you have worked for. It’s a life of unpredictability. Many people struggle to understand what is going on with them and how to find the right support. It’s a complex disorder that requires a lot of support to come to terms with the diagnosis, with what has occurred during episodes, and with what that means for your future. Believe me, I get it. Having had my first episode at 13, I have a long history with this disorder and its treatment, both personally and professionally.
I provide a unique blend of bipolar wisdom, practical tools, and evidence-based treatment to help you manage the condition. I can help you prevent episodes, make treatment more effective, and reduce symptoms. I’m here because I want to see people with bipolar disorder succeed. I want to see you take control of your journey without the setbacks of episodes.

How it Works
Assessment and Goal Setting
We begin with an in-depth assessment of your mental health, past experiences, and current challenges. Together, we identify your goals—whether it's overcoming a depressive episode, understanding the disorder and its treatments, or preventing episodes. This collaborative goal-setting ensures that therapy is focused on what matters most to you, and we tailor our approach based on your needs.
Recognizing Symptoms and Managing Triggers
A core aspect of therapy is learning to recognize the early warning signs of both mania and depression. Together, we'll identify symptoms and triggers, and I'll provide you with practical strategies to manage them effectively. I offer realistic and proven methods to prevent episodes before they escalate, helping you regain control over your life.
Building Long-Term Stability
Beyond managing crises, our work will focus on long-term stability and building a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling. We’ll work on developing healthy routines, improving relationships, and cultivating habits that support stability. My approach integrates different therapeutic modalities, such as CBT, Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy, psychoeducation, and peer support techniques, so that you receive well-rounded care tailored to your needs.

Personalized Guidance
When I started my own recovery journey, I looked for someone with my disorder who could guide me through the process. I have become that person for my clients. I understand the highs, the lows, and the uncertainty of what might come next. As a trained psychotherapist and former peer support worker, I offer not only clinical knowledge but also real-world understanding and down-to-earth guidance, ensuring that you are supported throughout your journey.
A Real-World Example
Before
One client was afraid of leaving her house during the summer because she associated the season with previous manic episodes. The fear of experiencing mania again kept her isolated and greatly diminished her quality of life.
After
Through our sessions, we worked on recognizing early manic symptoms and understanding her specific triggers. I helped her develop coping strategies to manage potential manic energy and reduce her fear of summer. Together, we successfully prevented four manic episodes, and today she feels more confident going out and enjoying life without the constant fear of losing control.
